Lt. Governor Brown Visits BCAC to Recognize New Child Neglect Law 

October 1, 2011:  Lt. Governor Anthony G. Brown will be joined by representatives from child advocacy organizations, members of law enforcement, and state and local officials at the Baltimore Child Abuse Center for an event to recognize Maryland's Child Neglect Law, which takes effect on October 1st.  The Lt. Governor will also tour the Baltimore Child Abuse Center and present the Center with a Governor's Proclamation in recognition of their outstanding efforts and commitment to serving and protecting child victims of neglect and physical and sexual abuse.

August 4, 2011: Baltimore Child Abuse Center, Art with A Heart, and volunteers work on art isntallation together, will host live concert to display work. 

 

BCAC Reacts: Why is Child Neglect Legal in Maryland?

March 3, 2011:  Executive Director Adam Rosenberg comments on Maryland being the only state in the country that has not made child neglect a crime.  This legislative session, the governor has an important bill on his agenda, the Criminal Child Neglect Bill HB962/SB757 which, if passed, will make child neglect a crime. 

 

BCAC and The Afro-American Newspaper hosts Premiere Screening of "Precious" 

November 21, 2009: Baltimore Child Abuse Center hosts a special premiere screening of award winning Precious movie followed by panel discussion on November 21, 2009 at 9:30am at The Charles Theater.

BCAC staff is available to appear and discuss issues related to abuse and the program avaialble to families who suffer similar trauma to that depicted in "Precious."
